Space Junk Found Fallen Out of the Sky

A piece of space junk from a SpaceX capsule has been found in rural Australia, causing speculation about the danger of space debris falling to Earth. Australian National University astrophysicist Brad Tucker received a call from two farmers informing him of a scorched object in their field that they believed to be space junk. The object reentered Earth's atmosphere on July 9th, 20 months after it was launched. A sonic boom was heard by people in the area when the piece entered the atmosphere.

Tucker states,

"These are the largest pieces of space junk in Australia since 1979, after the US Space station Skylab crashed over Western Australia".
